Cuba can be a very hard place to access, if you’re an American, thanks to the long-standing embargo that Uncle Sam has assigned to the tiny island country. But it’s an amazing place to visit, if you can square away the paperwork, and now Exit Tours says they’ll return there in 2025.

They have two different options next year for the western end of Cuba, for 11-day (10 overnight stays) trips, with eight riding stages. Those tours run January 10-20 or February 10-20.

These are all-inclusive jaunts, with support van and a guide, and they’ll take you to historic sites all over Cuba. Havana, the Bay of Pigs, Trinidad, Remedios, and so on, with help from German tour operator Profil Reisen. You’ll ride BMW F700 GS motorcycles, and your guide is Luis Enrique Gonzalez Saez.

The actual route taken had lots of input from tour guide Christopher Baker; Baker has written seven guide books to Cuba, including the National Geographic Cuba guidebook and his literary travelog, Mi Moto Fidel: Motorcycling Through Castro’s Cuba, so if you’ve researched travel there, chances are you’ve seen his work. He pretty much put Cuba motorcycling on the map, and has led group tours to Cuba since 2012, so he understands not just the local culture, but what motorcyclists want to see.

There’s also a similar tour March 10-20 through eastern Cuba, riding the same BMWs.

The Exit Tours trips are possible under a loophole in US law that lets Americans visit under certain conditions. As per their website:

The U.S. “Support for the Cuban people” license allows US Citizens to travel freely to Cuba as they wish.

The “Support for the Cuban people” license, requires that we stay at private B&Bs and dine at private restaurants while in Cuba.
You’ll ride for 8 or 9 days, and our days will be full of Adventure as we explore old colonial towns on the island, and meet with Cubans from all walks of life…

See more details on all these rides here, and an explanation of what’s included in the price and what isn’t. Expect to pay around $5,300 USD, but prices are somewhat subject to change.
