The motorcycle world is often seen as a male-dominated space. SheADV was founded a decade ago to help spread the fun around, making it easier for women to enter the adventure riding world. But organizing and managing events costs money, and SheADV is now looking to start a supporter program to help fund the fun.

SheADV Launches Annual Supporter Program with Matching Grant from BDRApril 2nd, 2025 – SheADV, a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to connecting, educating, and empowering women through motorcycling, has announced the launch of the SheADV Annual Supporter Program. This initiative provides women riders with exclusive benefits while directly supporting SheADV’s mission to create more opportunities in adventure motorcycling.
To help kickstart the program, Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) has approved a $5,000 matching grant, ensuring that every contribution will be doubled, amplifying the impact of each donation.
“For nearly a decade, SheADV has built a thriving community where women can gain skills, confidence, and lifelong connections. With this new program, we’re inviting more riders to join us in breaking down barriers and empowering women in adventure motorcycling.”
— Shalmarie Wilson, SheADV Co-FounderExpanding Opportunities for Women in Adventure Riding
Since its founding in 2015 with seed funding from Touratech-USA, SheADV has become a respected resource within the adventure riding community, playing a key role in supporting women in motorcycling. For over a decade, the entirely volunteer-driven organization has helped riders develop their skills, build confidence, and connect with a growing network of female motorcyclists. Currently incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Arizona, SheADV is in the process of obtaining 501(c)(3) federal non-profit status to better support the women’s riding community.
Programs such as SheADV Trailside Online, a free monthly virtual meetup series, provide educational resources and discussions on key topics in adventure riding. SheADV also attends national ADV rallies and offers all-women’s training sessions at major industry events, including the Touratech Rally.
In addition to training and mentorship, SheADV provides essential resources for backcountry motorcycle travel, preparedness, and rider safety. By offering these opportunities, the organization continues to break down barriers for women looking to explore the world on two wheels.
