What if you want to travel on a motorcycle but you don’t feel like paying for expensive hotels and motels, and you don’t feel like tenting?
You can turn your motorcycle into an RV—or at least, if you have a Triumph Rocket III, you can do so. Add a Mini-Mate SideCamper, and you’re set! Uh, as long as you’re the handy DIY type, at least; this isn’t the sort of thing you can just order off a showroom floor.

A muscular building platform
The basis for this unique sidecar setup is a Triumph Rocket III, one of the brawniest bikes ever built. Launched in 2004, the straight triple engine with 2294 cc capacity made just under 150 horsepower at the crank, with 163 pound-feet of torque. That’s a lot of muscle, and it’s just what you want if you’re hauling a sidecar—especially if your setup is as heavy as what’s seen here. The Rocket III weighed 797 pounds wet (!!!). That’s before adding a sidecar setup…

The three-cylinder engine was particularly beefy in its down-low power delivery, which again is what you need on a rig like this. And on this specific bike, you can see some custom work done to the cooling system with the overflow cylinder moved to promote airflow. This customized machine has plenty such tweaks to make it work better in its role as a sidecar hack. Check out the excerpt from the original forum post:
